Drains & main lines

Drains that stay open.

Anyone can push a clog down the line for a fortnight. We cable it, jet it and put a camera down to see why it blocked in the first place.

The three-step version

Clear it. Scour it. Check it.

A cable punches through the blockage and gets you flowing. The jetter scours the wall back to full bore so grease and roots have nothing to grab.

The camera then says whether the line is fine or failing.

  • Kitchen, bathroom, laundry and floor drains
  • Main sewer lines and outside cleanouts
  • Hydro jetting for grease, sludge and root hair
  • Camera inspection with the problem on screen
  • Recurring blockages traced to the actual cause
Store-bought drain chemicals sit in the trap eating the pipe when they do not clear it — and the plumber who opens it afterwards gets it on their arms. Skip them.

The jetter trailer — high-pressure water that scours the pipe wall instead of just poking through the clog.

Reading the signs

Your house tells you before it backs up.

One slow sink is a fixture problem. Several at once, or anything gurgling, is the main line talking to you.

Gurgling

Air pushing back past a partial blockage — usually the main line, not the fixture you are standing at.

Two at once

Flush the toilet and the shower backs up? The blockage is downstream of both of them.

Smell

Sewer gas means standing waste or a dry trap. Neither fixes itself.

The yard

A soggy strip of lawn over the lateral in a dry week is a broken line, not a drainage problem.

Camera first

You see what we see.

On a repeat blockage the camera goes down before we quote. Roots, a belly, a cracked joint and a collapsed lateral all look identical from the cleanout.

If the line is lined-able, we will tell you about trenchless CIPP repair rather than selling you a dig.

Tell us which fixtures are affected and how long it has been going on — that usually tells us whether it is the trap or the main line before we arrive.
